Location

Ocean Breeze Apartments are situated at the top of Porthmeor Hill in West Place, overlooking the iconic Tate St Ives building and Porthmeour beach.

St Ives has an enviable reputation not only as one of the most famous holiday destinations in Cornwall but also as a historic and cultural centre. With four beaches to choose from, safe in the knowledge that West Cornwall boasts probably the cleanest waters in the country, you can be sure of finding what you are looking for when spending a day by the sea, with most providing the facilities you would expect.

Porthmeor is a popular surfing beach only two minutes from the apartment, with good sand and sunbathing, while the Harbour is a great suntrap. Porthgwidden is a small sandy cove with good bathing while Porthminster has half a mile of golden sand, safe bathing and usually sheltered from the wind.

From a historic perspective, St Ives is still a fishing port and ancient narrow streets lead inland taking you to fascinating and often unexpected twists and turns. Culturally, St Ives enjoys an international reputation as a vibrant arts mecca with the Tate Cornwall and Barbara Hepworth Museum being two must-see attractions, but there are many galleries throughout the town showcasing the work of artists from the area, reinforcing the flourishing arts scene. You can also enjoy the many fine hostelries and restaurants that St Ives has to offer, with a rich variety to suit all pockets and tastes.

The main attraction in St Ives is of course the Tate gallery and that’s open all year round and approximately two minutes away from our apartment.
